3. he's a maine coon
my friend got him for free from a breeder because he's "defective."

his ribcage is compressed and that could be a sign of heart problems. hopefully that won't happen, though.

25. I love Maine Coons!
He's so cute. We hope to find one to adopt. Right now, I'm sitting here with my son's 7 week old tabby in my lap. She's sick with a cold, & she's so small, we are starting to get a little worried.

28. sigh
every kitten I've gotten from the pound had a cold. She probably needs a trip to the vet, but she'll get over it. They'll give her some antibiotics, and just make sure she's eating and drinking.

30. yes the vet
After I had to take my Maine Coon to the animal rescue I promised the rescue person that I'd be back to adopt as soon as I had moved to adopt another kitten or two.

I adopted two of them and a day or so later one got sick. I rushed him and the other one to the vet ASAP. Kitten #1 (named him Tiny because he was so tiny) died at the vet! I cried so hard!

However the other one was also very sick but grew into a HUGE flame point Siamese and he is now 3 years old.

I love him a lot but I sure miss my Maine Coon. I told the rescue place that should he ever show up there again (they cut a small notch in his ear so he can never be put down but will return to the rescue) to call me right away and I'll come and get him. No calls in almost 3 years now. Still waiting.

I want my Maine Coon back! LOL!

31. she's already been to the vet.
she was there Fri. and yesterday, now we're waiting to see what happens. She's on meds, and I'm running a humidifier for her. She sleeps a lot, barely eats, and now is force-fed water. Of course, we're already attached to her.

32. Dookus, what if she isn't eating or drinking?
she's so congested in her nose, she can't even smell the food the vet gave her. I'm really getting worried; the vet saw her yesterday. gave her eyedrops on top of antibiotics, and she's still worse today.
I really wonder about the vet.

with my beautiful molly. She was sick for awhile, but just keep doing the antibiotics. I was given an eye cream to use. Try warming up some wet cat food or tuna (anything particularly stinky) in the microwave - that'll get her appetite running.

I had a Maine Coon a few years ago. I don't have him anymore as a millionaire adopted him. It is a long story, but oh my, he could get himself into the biggest messes you'd ever imagine!

I ended up having to take him to a local animal rescue and they found another home for him fairly soon.

They never loose that kittenish meow btw and they get VERY large! How I miss my beloved cat. I should be glad a new home was found for him he was poisoned but lived through it (that was the situation that led to having to take him to an animal rescue). He had a few bad habits and loved to tease dogs and other cats in the neighborhood.

If you can keep him indoors you'll be way ahead of the game, believe me on that one!

:)

7. awww--whadda widdle sweetie!
I'm the "mother" of 4 3-week-old kittens (they do have a real cat mother). The mother is calico. 3 are solid black and the 4th has calico patches becoming more & more apparent. This weekend they went through a definite change as they started play-fighting in earnest and are now all over the house, underfoot and especially all over me whenever I am on the couch. They like to cuddle against me when I try to take a nap on the couch but that is very unrestful--I can't quite relax enough to fall asleep because I might squoosh one.

I guess I assumed the symbol had religious significance as well as political significance. But if it's considered okay to use it in that manner, then, sure, I like 'em!
