Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited on tonight
If you like the old Dick Van Dyke Show (1961-1966) then you are in for a treat tonight as the surviving cast members get together for what is being called a new episode. The plot: Alan Brady (Carl Reiner) wants his ex-writers Rob Petrie and Sally (Rose Marie) to write his eulogy even though he is perfectly healthy--the reason is he wants to know what will be said after he goes. Also included will be Laura (Mary Tyler Moore).

I'm really looking forward to this as Carl Reiner did the script and it is one of the all-time great comedy series of all-time.

4. my wife and I rediscovered dick van dyke afew years ago. watched them all!
It was one of my top season passes on tivo until we'd seen all 160 or so of them. What a great show. The writing blows today's stuff out of the water, and I've never seen better physical comedy on american tv.

heh. the physical comedy. i wonder if old dick can still pull it off?

I did see some animated show based on the original on tvland a while back, but it wasn't very good. But with Reiner at the helm, I expect good things out of this one.

...off to make tivo grab it right now!

It was the way I always wanted grownup life to be.

And of course Laura Petrie was hot.
