Teen Mugged People So He Could Go To Movies

A lack of cash and a yen for the movies.

Those are the reasons why he typically mugged victims on Mondays and Fridays, a Mariners Harbor teen-ager told cops.

But his love of the silver screen will put Keith Brown behind bars for up to six years after he cut plea deals yesterday -- coincidentally, a Monday -- for two crimes he committed in January.

Brown, 17, pleaded guilty in state Supreme Court, St. George, to third-degree robbery, stemming from a Jan. 12 holdup outside Curtis High School. The defendant is not a student at the school.

He also pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree robbery for trying to rip off two victims on Jan. 23 on St. Marks Place, St. George.
