You know the problem with North American Nightlife?
(Quebec / possibly Newfoundland excluded) We don't sing at the bar, I had some folks at my cabin, a couple were from England. So there we all were at 2 am singing at the top of our lungs....singing anything - from Rule Britannia to Raffi.

It didn't matter and it was a damned good time. Even when I timbered into the deck I was still havin a good time.

But here we don't do that - too worried of what people will think I suppose. It is suprising considering how much of the Lower Class UK and Ireland came to North America - you'd think we'd all be singing.

Even at soccer games the Europeans sing songs, not just stupid boring chants like "Go Leafs Go."

What do you think?

3. We used to always sing in bars
But that was in the late 80s to early 90s. Drunken 20-somethings in DC. I've been asked to leave a few bars because of that sort of general uproariousness.

Once a buddy and I met two German bikers in Jackson Hole, Wyoming who were on their way to Sturgis. We proceeded to get extremely drunk. My buddy spoke a little German that got progressively worse as the night lingered. By the end of the evening we were not able to communicate at all, but we realized that we all knew the words to certain songs. The rest of the night all we did was sing at the top of our lungs.
