Louisiana seeks to outlaw low-slung jeans

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/afplifestyle_us_justice

MIAMI (AFP) - Teen idol Britney Spears may have to rethink her wardrobe (Uh oh there goes that career) before visiting her home state of Louisiana, which is mulling new legislation to outlaw low-riding jeans that reveal underwear or too much skin.

The proposed bill, approved by the state's House Criminal Justice Committee last week, would outlaw wearing clothing in public that intentionally exposes undergarments or "any portion of the pubic hair, cleft of the buttock or genitals."

Violators would be required to carry out three days of community service at a local fire station and pay a fine of up to 175 dollars.

"I don't relish seeing the beginning of the crease of people's buttocks," local press reports quoted Green as saying. "And I don't enjoy watching young men letting their sexual organs show through their red or black silk underwear."

Uh yeah the attached photo of Britney

7. I wonder if this will apply to the "hip hop" saggy drawers look
As much as I think the "kids" look like idiots wearing their pants under their butts I really don't think the police should be walking around telling kids to pull up their pants. But that is just me.

13. Plumbers are exempt
The bills sponsor was on Sam Donaldson radio more than a week ago and said gardeners plumbers and trade workers were exempt because of the conditions they work under. How Sam Donaldson did not lose it I will never know.

5. all those middle aged men who can't keep their pants up...
will be at risk... you know the guys I'm talking about ... As they bend over to take stuff out of the SUV, big, white, hairy butts peaking out from between the T-shirt and the top of the pants....

Oh yeah... I agree with the legislature... this should be banned. It's usually coupled with a big pot belly in front. These guys need High-Riding pants.

18. My thoughts exactly. Time to shorten the legislative session.
Or get legislators with different priorities. I guess it is safe to assume that the public schools, higher education, child welfare, and public safety departments are all running smoothly in Louisiana? No need for any action by the legislature?

9. Would anyone hire a teenager that...
has the use of only one hand, because the other one is used to hold up his pants? I'm sure we would...right in the reception room.

10. Sheesh
You would think legislators would have better things to do.

I wonder if the bill includes bra straps in the definition of undergarments?
