Dang, but I love my former employer (the company)

(though I also thought very highly of my bosses, too, and still do think highly of them)

But every three months I get my 401(k) report from them, and by God, every time, even through the crap after the dotcom bust and 9-11, every quarter it's gone up. 20+% in 2002, just about 25% in 2003, and in the first quarter of this year, about 10%.

Dammit, but they have good people managing the company's 401(k). I'm so glad I decided my 401(k) with them when I left, and not move into something else. These guys are geniuses!!

And thankfully, they have their money in it, too, so it's not like Enron. :-)

Not meaning to brag here, but in the corporate bad-economy crap going on, I want to let people know that there is some bit of goodness out there. Which makes for me being unemployed, perhaps. (not from that company, though).

Wish I had something similar to brag about, but you win this round, damn you.

we're all set for retirement but the real trick is finding some damn way of surviving that long. :-)
