My virtuous deed o' the week

A woman had accidentally abandoned her purse in the parking lot at Walmart (boo hiss), right next to my studly crime-fighting pickup truck. So, sez I, hero that I am (and having time to kill), "Hmm. Guess it's up to me to save the day!" I thusly turned said purse (with billfold and cell phone sticking out of the bulging item) over to the Greeter at the entrance.

About the time I walked back to my truck to see if They needed me downtown to fight crime or fix a computer or pose for pictures, the poor woman reappeared, Walmart (boo hiss) associate in tow, frantically looking for her stuff. Full of studly self-righteousness, and with a hell of a super-type glow on, I approached her and asked if she was looking for her purse. Upon confirming she was indeed the unfortunate one, I told her the purse was in safe hands, and I got a hug of gratitude from her as the fade-out theme welled up in the background.

Downtown never DID call me that day. I'm still waiting...

...it's hard to see the searchlight signal from downtown. Double good job for you, not only for what you did, but for knowing where to lie in wait for CRIME! (Wal Martians scare me...)

no. because you're still shopping there. boo hissing is awfully hollow considering the fact that you shop there and will continue in the future. i've no beef with you, just is i don't like wal-mart . . ..
