On Orange County, California
Well I have just watched the 3rd episode of the new show "The O.C." (apologies for being such a consumer of popular culture). I have to confess that I seem to like the show, though it seems a bit over the top (what show isn't?). My friend who lives in Newport Beach says he and his friends find the whole concept of the show to be kind of silly. Orange County never seemed to me to be the home of some kind of an elite. There are many nice homes, but there are also many moderate income neighborhoods. Nor is it as Republican as it was in the days of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. I would not be surprised if Orange County turns into a blue county in 2008 or 2012.

1. Orange County will never turn blue
But see my thread on this topic. I love the show a lot.

Newport Beach, the town where the show takes place, is very Republican.

4. Pockets of OC are VERY blue Carlos...you surprise me
one of the more liberal congresscritters is Loretta Sanchez who REPLACED Bob Dornan here in ORANGE COUNTY!!!

Even the majority of Repubs in the county are more moderate than Gary Condit's district.

3. OC
I live in Tustin. It might go blue if someone would blow up Angels stadium on a sold out night.
