"Are yinz goin' dahn the Igloo to see the Pens n'at?"

or

"Are you going to the Mellon Arena to see the Penguins game?"

so I grew up in the suburbs. We never said "Yinz"

In a serious context anyway. I did let fly with the occasional "n'at", though.

3. We said nothing but "yinz". Western PA born and raised.
I had to consciously get it out of my vocabulary when I got to college because I was ridiculed mightily for using it. It jars me to hear it now in the work world, not as jarring in the family/social world.

In my play, "The Duck Blind," the father character says, "yuns" quite a bit, reflecting his Western PA background. I always thought it sounded like Quintessential Dad.
