Cliched saying pet peeve "John Henry" vs "John Hancock"
i used to work with stupid people that would say "Put your John Henry here." instead of John Hancock. it drove me NUTS!! i tried to correct them once but they thought i was wrong. I AM NEVER WRONG!!

Fortunately, I only have to deal with her once every six months...

One day I'm going to lose it, however, and say, 'IT'S JOHN HANCOCK, NOT JOHN HENRY! JOHN HENRY WAS AN AFRICAN-AMERICAN RAILROAD WORKER IN THE LATE 1800'S AND ALMOST CERTAINLY ILLITERATE DUE TO A JIM CROW EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM!!! However... here's my John Henry." Then scrawl a big X on the line.

Actually, I doubt that I'll ever do such a thing. I'll just suffer in aggrieved silence forever, and eventually die.
