Poll question: What Is The "Suffix" To Your Home's Street Name?
My past three addresses have been "Lane". Weird, huh?

8. I Couldn't Decide If Court Should Replace Circle In The Poll
I almost included it... but needed an "Other" option too.

7. I voted for "Avenue" but...
It actually depends on which name you use for the street -- "Kirkwood Ave." which is also known as "5th St."

It's "China Grove". Just China Grove. Either named after the town China Grove or the song China Grove named after the town.

Take it from one who grew up on Lord Byron Lane in Cockeysville.

19. Allen, this has nothing to do with the poll. But I have to ask...
Who IS the guy in that picture? Your avatar?

This has bothered me.

Thanks

29. I lived in one town
where a lot of the street names were <whatever> Street Court East. Confused the hell out of people on the phone when you gave them the address. Stupid place. The worst thing is that most of the streets thusly named, for example, 146th Street Court East, were duplicated as Street, 146th Street East, but that was a COMPLETELY different street in another part of town. Mail got lost, Mapquest got confused - it was an irritating place to live. Almost as bad as when I lived on N Street NE - everyone thought the N was a North designation. It wasn't - the street name was just the letter N.

I'm sure it would be frustrating for getting reliable mail deliveries... but I'd NEVER want to need an ambulance, or police, or fire fighter. WHO KNOWS where they'd end up?

31. I don't see Bay City Progressive around, so
In Bay City, MI, there are both a North Union Street and a South Union Street (only six blocks apart or so). Depending on which side of Henry Street one is on, you get West North Union, East North Union, West South Union and East South Union.
I live on an avenue, by the way -- about 12 miles south of Bay City.
John
Meanwhile in Saginaw, Good and High streets parallel each other, one block apart.

35. Last 4 have been Avenues.
Prior to that, there's a Street, then a bunch of Avenues.

Only Streets and Avenues in my history.
