Scientists on Bush Team Sez, Global Warming A Sham!!!!
Reich Wing Stink Tank Concludes That The Air Is Fine, NOOOOO Problem! Resident Booosh Sez, "I've got the world's greatest scientific team workin' 24/7 on the Global Warming question and they say we're, "Home Free"!" NO PROBLEMO???? Is this secret scientific team people we can trust to be top notch on the enviormental problems that Mr Boosh wants to always minimize because his contributors tell him to? Just Who The Hell Are These Secret Scientists?

1. I have just been handed this secret photo of the Top Secret Lab!
Are these sophisticated devices in the background part of the secret investigation? If Boosh lied about the Yellow Cake, is he lying about Global Warming? Do we need secret Stink Tanks to tell us that, just about all the real scientists on the planet are full of Sh*t and that the Stink Tanks are telling the truth while all the scientists are lying through their teeth? What do you think?

Bush lies and people die!

2. Even as the EverGlades is flooded and people tire from filling sandbags
The Pubs will be in denial.

Such is Pub Life, everything a dream, a sham, an illusion.

The problem with Pubs is they have no idea they being had by those above them.

Now that they got stuck with this Boosh loser, they got no choice but to be loyal and stick by his ass... for fear of losing face. No self respecting Pub will admit they got had and voted the wrong way. They too proud for that.

3. People who would sit and watch their country trashed because
they are too proud to admit they were wrong are unpatriotic to the MAX! Their blind loyalty to an Idjit means more to them than their country! These are basicly the people who always talk the talk, but turn their backs and walk, when it comes time to really fight for America's future! The Pubs stick their heads somewhere like the ostrich does and they PREY it will all go away!

7. but the climate is different because of human enterprise
Everything is interconnected. Down to the smallest insect, the action of one sets off a chain reaction like a line of dominoes falling (but it's not a "line" but a humongous web). The globe itself is one giant ecosystem--this is the basic premise of the Gaia hypothesis--and imbalances will be reflected throughout the system.

11. As any fool can see, when you dump more and more CO2 and
other greenhouse gasses into the air and cut down more and more trees that are the earth's natural CO2 filter you get about the same result as you would with a Bush Tax Cut!(A HUGE DEFICIT!) Not only are we fouling the air with more pollution worldwide, we are also depleating our supply of oxygen as we cut and burn forrests that produce our oxygen! $$$$$$GOOD AIR IS RARE!$$$$$$$

If the Repubs believe so strongly that GAWD created the earth, why do they continue to try and trash his great work faster and faster? If they believe in the right to life so strongly, why do they show so little respect for the quality of life for the entire planet?

That's a great point!

... let's see your climatology credentials--lay `em out. I don't think you've got any more science training than El Arbusto Stupido.

Come on. Lay `em out.

On edit, don't mean to be cruel, but if you have no science training, you should be a listener, not an espouser. Sixty-four posts? Methinks you're here to cause trouble. If you can't provide some serious scientific credentials to refute what virtually all scientists in the world today are saying, you're reptilian meat....

Let's make this plain--the guys who know are saying that CO2 levels today are as high as they were 240 million years ago, when most of the earth was swamp, with dinosaurs roaming around, and those levels have been increasing from about the time we began to burn fossil fuels in quantity.

Now, you made a very general statement in defense of the Bush position--let's see some science. Hard science.

Cheers.

I'm not here to cause trouble jesus christ. All I said was it is also a natural life cycle.BUt I do believe the release of CO2 like everyone is saying is contributing to keeping it around longer than it should, and if you look at the time lines, we're way over due for an ice age...I don't think I'm the one trying to cause trouble here. And dont' EVER tell me I'm defending Bush's position. He's an asshole who needs to be plugged. Honestly...you need to go back and read my post again. I said, yes, we are causing global warming, but at the same time it's a natural life cycle. The earth will cool and heat naturally in cycles...but I also point out we're keeping the earth warmer than what we should be because of the co2 problems. And as for the 64 posts...I've been here for two weeks. I'm sure at one point you had 64 posts. Were people rude to you mistakenly because they MISREAD SOMETHING YOU SAID?

10. An excellent point
It was less than twenty years ago that we were all told to be concerned with the coming ice age that could be accelerated by pollution or nuclear war. I think all scientists are stretching the truth if they think they can predict the weather further out than a week or two.

12. Details on these warnings from twenty years ago?
Nuclear winter is an entirely different matter--which has not come about.

As for scientists stretching the truth beyond a week or two, I'll be the first to admit that global climate modeling has some shortcomings... but I'd guess that the modelers' knowledge on this is a great deal more than yours.

I listen to the people who know better than I. I don't know know where you live, but if you're in a coastal area, you just might be getting wet soon. Let's look at the raw evidence--a Harvard scientist who's been visiting the North Pole every few years for the last twenty-five years said, last year, that it was the first time he'd been to the Pole that there was no ice at the North Pole in the summer.

Weather has been nutso--last year in Europe, there were floods everywhere, and now, this year, heat waves far beyond expectation. This is very likely due to ocean temperature perturbations.

There have been thunderstorms above the Arctic Circle in Alaska, and Inuit tribes there have no words to describe either thunder or lightning, since they have never experienced either, in collective memory which might go back 15,000 years.

An ice sheet the area of Rhode Island fell off of Antarctica this spring. It had been in place since observations began there near the turn of the last century.

The citizens of Tuvalo are seeking other islands to inhabit because a four-foot increase in sea level has reduced the area of their principal island and is ruining their fresh water supplies.

The snows of Kilimanjaro are disappearing year by year.

Glaciers in the Swiss and Italian Alps are receding at a pace unheard of in previous decades.

Denying the truth is easy. Fixing the problem is hard. You, I believe, are in denial. The earth is warming at a much more rapid rate than we wish to believe.

Keep this in mind, sir. There's no place else to go, right now. We're all stuck here. We make our way here or fail as a species.

Keep on believing it's just sunspots (no evidence for that, either). I hope you don't live in Cocoanut Grove, FL. You might find yourself flooded out very soon.

Cheers.

15. I am on the coast of Florida...
and feel relatively safe here. There is some evidence of a warming trend in global long term climate right now. There was evidence of a cooling trend 20+ years ago when 'virtually all' scientists thought there was a global cooling process going on. We had record snow storms and summers with record low temperatures throughout the US.

There are both short and long term cycles of global weather change that can be accounted for in the past. Where the evidence is lacking is in the causes of these changes and in predicting them. Scientists right now are using models to predict weather that have a series of assumptions built into them that may or may not be true.

19. Keep on believing....
The raw facts are that from 1900 to now, average global temps have increased by 3 deg. C. According to the climatologists, the real shit occurs at about 6 deg. C, which they predict by 2100, but, in fact, there's a lot of talk these days about a "tipping point," where climate change occurs much more rapidly because of a combination of effects which are exponential in effect.

I still would like a source for your assertions--I remember no general agreement from world climatologists in 1980 of a general cooling trend.

And, yes, I remember a snowstorm in northwestern FL in 1981. I was there. It was an anomaly, not a trend--nothing of the kind has happened since.

The real issue about climatology now is modeling the major thermosiphoning currents in the Atlantic and the Pacific. The Atlantic gulf stream is better known and studied, and, I assure you, is behaving according to model. The similar current in the Pacific is less well identified, but no less influential.

Cheers.
