What is the Future of Distance Learning?
This is just one of the questions on my mind. I have applied to Colorado Tech-on line college and been accepted. Now I just have to make sure I can pay for it. I applied for the fafsa and was accepted on that part also. My problem is that this college program tuition is $47,000. For the four yr I'm sure. But it being an on-line college I am kinda confused to how it all works.

I guess I am just trying to see if anyone has any advise for me on this issue.

Thank you for any and all responses.

1. Is the college also off-line? I have taken quite a few online
courses and could probably give you some feedback on that, but the courses I took were from brick and mortar colleges.

2. No everything is on-line through this college I think
Like I said before this is my first time trying anything like it. I am currently trying to get my schedule together but they need info from my last school and it was in TX and I am in NC now. So we are trying to get through that part right now.

I just hope that after going through all of this work so far that my grades will not hinder me from proceeding further. I guess we will see huh?

Thank you for your response. At least someone cares.

4. 47K?

Wow. They sure aren't bashful about it are they? Are they a regionally acredited school? Unless this school is RA and if only they have the exact program you're looking for, I'd go elsewhere fast. I've got some information on DL if you'd like.
47k sounds real steep to me.

This site is good about info on economical DL schools around the world. All legit schools, meaning accredited.

5. Thank you
But isn't it a little lat seeing as I have already been accepted to this school and already had the fafsa finished for this school and all of the other stuff?

I just don't know what the repercussions would be to withdraw this late in the procedure?

8. If you haven't paid them a cent,
I wouldn't sweat it. I'd look around for a more economical IT school if that's what you're looking for, like a community college and transfering to a 4 year comp/sci/IT program.

10. I paid $50 for the application fee
That is about all. But I am going to try and make this college option work. I guess all I am asking is if they will have payment plans if I do end up with out of pocket expenses?

Thank you for your insight. It is greatly appreciated.

Have a safe and fun weekend.

9. Wish I could tell you more ...
Mr. Nownow just finished a degree with an online school, but his employer paid a big chunk of the tuition, he didn't use FAFSA at all.

I don't understand all I know about FAFSA, either -- we make too much money, between us, to use anything but employer subsidies to attend college.

I know the school he 'attended' had an online message forum -- perhaps you could contact somebody from Colorado Tech Online and see if they have a FAQ or a Q & A forum you could use to ask questions.

FAFSA also should have a toll-free number (or a FAQ online) where you could get answers to specific questions.
