I'm afraid thread like this make me a little uncomfortable. Not so much for myself, but for others who like to think of themselves as being well liked and 'popular' on DU. I'll bet that there are many people who might be feeling a little left out of this popularity contest. Maybe others are feeling more isolated now that the lines have been drawn and we know who's 'in' and who's not.

I can appreciate the sentiment and I know that it's all in good fun and just a tip of the hat to those folks that someone admires... but I think there are better ways to do it.

But what do I know? Maybe I'm making too much of it. I'm just a nobody that doesn't even RATE getting included in a popularity contest. Humph.

(I'll just go over here and sit with Helga and Milo and Susie while we watch the 'Debbies' and wish we were as popular and pretty as they are. :-))
