Grrrr! Freakin' telemarketers!
Is it me, or are they hiring complete idiots to make these calls?

The other day I got a call with the usual lag time after I said "Hello." Tried again, and again. Finally, super-chipper-perky-cheerleader-type (cheerleaders, don't get mad, I was one, too) yells in my ear: "Hi, hi, HI-I-I-I-I!!!" Me: Click.

Today, same lag. Finally, "Hey, is (husband) there." Super-casual delivery. Me: "No, he's not, may I take a message?" Him: (dead silence for 3 seconds). Him, finally: "That'd be cool." Me: "What does this concern?" Him: "Uh, low interest rates." Me: "What do you mean?" Him: "Credit cards, credit cards. Does he have any of those?" Me: Click.

Usually, I head 'em off at the pass before they get that far, but I let this one talk. Now, who thinks that they're going to sell ANYone ANYthing this way? I know it's a job for these people, but they're taking up my time, being rude, and failing to explain themselves.

Just needed to vent. Thank you.

3. Actually I got call from Kerry's Campaign...
But I told em I already donated. But if you are bothered by telemarketers, put yourself on the do not call list like the other person said. In addition, I suggest you spend a couple of bucks more for caller Id so you know who is calling. There is a great new feature that Qwest offers here on the west coast which if the number is unknown, the person must punch in their phone number before the call routes. Telemarketers can't do this because their calls are auto dialed.

4. I like the Qwest offering. I'm already on Do Not Call.
A few seem to get through, anyway. I have a version of caller ID that shows the no. on the television screen, but it's not always on. Thanks for the ideas. Really just needed to vent about the rude, dumb callers.

5. A computer dials your number
so there is a pause between connecting you and the telemarketer.
