NJ DU'ers help me find homes for these kittens
this is the "gang of five". We think they are only about three weeks old. So you can't have them just yet. I have a total of nine available so ask anyone that might be interested in. Why not take one of these pictures to work and show them around? E-mail me for additional pics of any that tickle your fancy. I can't afford to take all of them to the vet, so that will be your responsibility.

And these fine felines are called the "Gang of four" They are
slightly older and a real fine lot if I do say so myself. There is
another all black one with a white tip on his tail not shown here. E-mail me for a pic. Thanks

I didn't think of the angle that someone could have a relative in NJ.

Where is their mom? How did you end up with NINE kittens? I have one 2 year-old long-hair and am seriously thinking about getting a second cat. But I am in Massachusetts...

6. Plenty of gorgeous kitties....
in the home state of OUR NEXT PRESIDENT......
BTW, I think that cats are God's most beautiful creation. Their proportions are perfect and their grace in unmatched (even the big ones). And their wittiness.... I am NOT religious but I thank God every day for our five beauties and for the many dear departed, whom (notice the anthropomorphization?) I miss terribly.

10. It's a long story but i'll condense it a bit..
The mom is around....we have a mom and three feral kittens show up in the yard last fall. We managed to trap and spay or neuter the three kittens. The mom disappeared. We cared for the kittens all winter with food and shelter. Leaving food out of course draws more cats, Which we continued to catch and have fixed.

We were unable to catch all of them. But recently we caught one(mini-tabby). So she went to get fixed and the vet said she had recently had kittens....so my sister went seaching for the kittens and in the yard next door found a litter of four.....but the mother was with them. So that still left another litter not yet found....a couple of houses down under a porch we found the others and the mother was at the vets....so they had been a day and ahalf with no mom around. We were able to urge them to come out and we put them in a carrier and fed them. They are called the gang of five. and are doing nicely.

the decision to keep the first four away from the mom was done so that they will be adoptable and not feral. The mom is nearby and attempted to grab one of the kittens and run of with her today. She was not sucessful. and that's the short version.

14. How purrfect
What little beauties. Wish I lived closer so I could make my adopted cat collection an even half dozen, but am sure you'll find homes for all of them in no time. As for me, if I can convince hubby, I will get my next kitty-fix at our local animal control shelter...we only have five cats and two dogs, all strays. They're the best and even when they get loose accidentally, which happens once in awhile, they always come home...but I worry about their safety until they're back inside. I love the DU because, besides the fact that everyone thinks so intelligently, there are so many animal lovers. It must be our bleeding hearts at work, huh? Wonder what happens to cats in Freeper land, or should we ask Bill Frist?
I guess that's unfair. Even Freepers must have hearts, right, right?

aren't all so little! I'm a computer moron so can't promise you'll ever see them, but they're almost as adorable as these little kitties (being full grown now they can't quite compete). As for the dogs, well, they kind of remind me of Republicans in that they are blindly loyal to me. But, I like to think I'm a better object of devotion than *ush.

I can probably get hubby to help me eventually. Right now he's recovering from surgery. But, it keeps him from being deployed overseas right now, so I'm grateful. And he knows if he goes by the time he gets back I'll have twice the amount of critters running around. BTW, love your user name and mine means *the crazy cat* in FRENCH, OMG!!

26. Hopefully, nowhere
We're in AZ but he's in a specialty they need in Iraq (intelligence) so I don't know if or when he'll be sent. He feels guilty that he's not deployable and so many of our guys are stuck there. Me, I'm just so p----d off that the Commander in Thief sent any of them at all, for nothing but lies. Although, did I pick up on buzzflash that the US and Britain are mulling an earlier pullout? *ush and *lair are such putzes. Well, this thread is about your adorable kitties and I really shouldn't sully it with mention of these jerks. Let us know how they are doing. I'll say goodnight and have a wonderful day tomorrow everyone. I have to take hubby up to Tucson to see the surgeon for followup.

44. Israeli, I think...
The uniform's non-camo, which is standard in the IDF; so's the helmet and the weapon (M16 clone). Israeli soldiers, especially reservists, wear pretty much whatever shoes they want to.

Sweet to see that this young troop hasn't lost his gentler instincts in the middle of that madness.

Tell you what, you find a way to get that little orange baby to me and I'll take him (or her) . . . Quinn would LOVE to have another kitty around. Only catch is I'm in Massachusetts.

I've been planning on adopting another kitty after I finish moving (in 2 weeks).

I frequently visit my sister in NY st. She's lives a little northeast of Albany, so I go up the thruway. Maybe we can work out a place to meet and you could have a new kitty and Quinn could get a buddy. Two or three weeks is a good time frame for me. I'll be going up North and the kitties should be old enough to be on their own. Quinn is beautiful.

37. What part of New Jersey?
I volunteer for a cat rescue group that has a pile of applications for people looking for kittens. I'm sure they would have no problem finding homes for these guys. They charge a nominal fee to the person who is adopting the cat/kitten, but that fee covers the shelter's cost for fixing them, shots, test, deworming, etc.

If you can't find homes for them, I'm sure our group could help you get these cuties adopted

Wonderful kittens! i do feral feline rescue outside Atlanta. i 1ce rescued a kitten that had been abandoned by mom , minutes after birth. i had to teach him to suckle, & feed him every 2 hours for about 3 weeks. an amazing experience, must be somewhat how a mother feels.

he's four now, & cd be my alpha, but is too cerebral to thirst for power.

i really admire what you're doing for these creatures. from their apparent age, you are clearly competent in your handling, so i won't bother to advise. Best of luck, A!
