Years ago they put out a mini series starring Steve Railsback (sp?) that was pretty damn terrifying....at least to me.

And it was based on the "Bug Man"'s book.

It was must watch TV in it's prime. A couple of seasons of poopoo stories and ACTING, until the purge (pun intended LOL) this year which REALLY restored the quality: back to must watch. The set-up for the successor series has been great. Can hardly wait for it.

So are we gonna watch the new version of "The Practice"? Or just give up? I haven't decided yet.

I read a review this weekend that summed it up the same. The film in 1976 was very well done. The book is excellent.

I'm not sure what you're saying is ridiculous. I've read the book, and seen the first movie several times. It appeared to stick to the details pretty well.

Yes, Railsback was awesome, and DiCenzo was great as Bugliosi, but I liked seeing a different presentation. I did NOT like Kirby as Bugliosi, and it dragged toward the end for me, but I liked how they showed Charlie messing with people's heads (like when Linda first joined).

The first movie didn't delve enough into how he was able to manipulate the people. It TALKED about how he did it, but this one had some focus on that.

The thing that drove me nuts about the first movie was the Dorothy Hamill-like hair on Atkins. Yes, she was creepy, but anachronistic details like that drive me NUTS. 70s hair in a 60s movie pisses me off. Other than that, it was good. And the new one had its moments.
