Anyone watch "Helter Skelter"?
I wasn't going to watch it, but I guess I will. I have been very interested in this case since I was a kid. I remember seeing the news broadcast in 1969 from KTTV in LA. It's always haunted me. Thoughts about the film, the case?

5. He's too good looking and not scary enough...

Railsback's eyes were scary and crazy like Manson's. This actor keeps scrunching up his forehead and eyes to look scary.

6. He doesn't have the fire or
have the ability to express the anger behind the beliefs. Not a good actor. I'm sure he spent a lot of time being a working actor, but it didn't take.

This one is good, but the '76 version had Steve Railsback as Manson, and he was great.

7. I watched it. I thought the movie from the 70s was scarier, especially
when the actor who plays Manson gives that fucked up look at the end of the movie...scared the bejeezus out of me when I saw it!

10. Some things that were not true
First off ..... the killers changed into black clothes when they went to the Tate house. I'm also glad they didn't show the murder of Sharon Tate. They killing of Abagail and Vochek were bad enought. All in all it's a pretty lame film. The first one was much better acted and written.

8. I saw enough between the Sopranos and Deadwood
To dislike it. I mean Bruno Kirby as Bugliosi, that whiny voice of his is just too annoying and he's played too many Schlemiels.

I'm ashamed to say that I watched this. They should have re-shot the script from the earlier movie. This was too much about Linda Kasabian. The actor who played Manson was too hammy!
