The most wonderful time of the year
In our neighborhood. Every year our city sponsors a "spring cleaning" and everyone is allowed to set anything to the curb that they want garage sale left overs, old yard furniture, washers, dryers, tires, you name it..but thats not the best part.

The best part is watching and participating in the annual garbage picking. Me and my husband did it in years past and we got some darn good stuff.

This year I set all my sons old toys to the road along with my husbands weights and barbells some 4x4's and old rowing machine. The city hasn't come by yet and my pile is almost gone. I think this is the best way to recycle ever. How about you folks? does your neighborhoods Spenser any "spring Cleaning" programs?

1. It is hilarious when the pick-ups hit the area and people are
driving around looking like the Beverly Hillbillies.

2. I love finding something cool on the curb.
Where I live we can put out anything anytime. I live on a main street so anything of any value is picked up and recycled. We do have a chemical cleanup day twice a year, you have to take it to the fire training school......paint, pesticides things unlabled and unknown. That project keeps alot of bad stuff out of the local environment. Our township also picks up leaves and grass clipping that are composted over the winter and all residents are allowed to pick up as much compost as they want. At the same facility you can drop of batteries, untreated wood, propane tanks, newspapers, motor oil etc. Great facility. Sometimes I get disgusted with Govt in general. But this place works for all the residents.

5. It would.
it's a local community thing. I think some people look forward to it more than christmas. Everyone wins, I feel great knowing someone considers my junk their treasure.
