Regis just read a $1,000 question:

According to the children's song, who "sees you when you're sleeping" and "knows when you're awake"?
(a) Easter Bunny
(b) Santa Claus
(c) Frosty the Snowman
(d) John Ashcroft

As Regis reads "John Ashcroft," the audience erupts in applause!
Maybe the worm is indeed turning.

9. Gangs of new York
I think there was a quote that I must paraphrase since I cannot remember it exactly from The Gangs of New York:

Boss Tweed was looking very concerned about his chances of winning the election and he talks with much angst to someone tabulating the votes (and is also on Tweed's side) and says, "The votes themselves don't matter! Only the counters matter - Keep COUNTING!"

It was an obvious dig at bush. Funny too when you see the movie - I obviosuly did not do the line justice.

13. BTW, was this post a joke or
did this really happen?? Did the contestant laugh and say something like, "Can I say ashcroft?"

I think I would have said, "Well, I am almost ready to forgo the money to say asscroft, but I will have to say Santa."
