I feel really bad today...
I went to visit The Animal Rescue Site today (http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com) to do my daily click. Today, though, I spent more time wandering around the site.

What do I find? There's literally dozens of things you can click on to save Rainforests, Jaguars, Old Growth Forests....

I don't have time to do them all, though I'd like to.

How do you decide which is more important to you?

Since we started helping the shelter I've found so many other animal welfare organizations that need help, too.

How do you decide who you can and can't help?

If I were a billionaire I still don't think there would be enough to help everyone.

And that is why I feel bad today.

1. You feel bad because you're very kind
That's a good thing.

Take comfort from the fact you can be of some help. Nobody could possibly help every cause that speaks to him. (Unless he was cold and mean and no cause spoke to him.)

2. Thanks for reminding me to make my daily click
Yes I know there are lots of sites there. One thing I'd like to also mention is the excellent service and products offered by Gearthatgives.com.

I bought yellow roses from the site for my mother for mother's day. Not only were they fresh, beautiful roses at a reasonable price but I got to tell her that the gift funded 28 bowls of food at an animal shelter. That just added to the gift as she's an animal lover.

6. Not true...
We had a skunk living under the building next to us. I gave him a wide berth and didn't bother him as long as he didn't bother us.

4. I think you just have to do what you can and be happy with it.
i'm currently taking care of nine kitten, five of which need to be bottle fed. Try to win the small battles because the war is unwinnable.

7. What I do
I start at the Hunger Site and work my way through the tabs; if I remember, I click on those further sites you describe.

I know where you are coming from, and I have felt that same way. You can only do so much, I figure, so start with those things closest at hand, whether it is physical location ("I can only help my local SPCA.") or interest ("I love bunnies! House Rabbit Society for me!"). You work at an animal shelter? That is such a great contribution of your time and labor; you are already doing more than most do or can. Please don't feel bad; recognize the good you are doing and do it with all you have.

And remember this - the forces of darkness can only work as fast as you can, too. Where we have greater numbers and strength, we cannot help but prevail.

8. Do the best that you can do,you can't fix it all!
On my limited income I have 2 non-profits that get all that I can give,The Animal Rescue League and Massachusetts Audubon.

My mother always said that you can''t fix the world but you can do something about your own little part of the world.

9. Shop at their Gift Shops
The gift shops for those sites are great! Many unusual and unique gifts to be found there, many of which will help the communities where they are manufactured.

Next time you have to buy a birthday or holiday gift consider shopping at thier site. Every little bit helps.

And yes, be grateful that you are a sensitive, caring person. You are a gift to the world!
