Pastor Escapes Attacking Alligator By Punching It In The Nose

LUTZ, Fla. -- A Florida pastor is recovering after an alligator bit him. The pastor was swimming in a lake just north of Tampa when a gator bit into his leg.

Pastor Rick Cabot got away by punching the gator in the nose. The pastor now has a bandage on his leg and his arm and needs a crutch to get around.

"I don't know if it was trying to kill me. It could have done a better job," says Cabot.

"I was under water this whole time, but I don't remember ever feeling panicked or short of breath or anything. I do remember thinking, 'I cannot believe a gator has my leg,' and I think that's when I punched it in the nose."

Trappers found the gator and removed him from the lake.

I've heard the same thing works for sharks who get too close. But I'm not eager to test that theory.

Gator Punchin Pastor... ingredients: rum, pickle juice, grenadine. If squeamish substitute lime flavored gator-ade for pickle juice.
