Need HELP from computer expert!
I set my monitor settings for the biggest display (I guess it was 640 x 800 pixels). The setting was SO BIG that the window to change the settings goes off of the bottom of the monitor and I can't get to the OK or Apply buttons to change it back!

So I went into Advance (I think) and found left and right and up and down adjustmentS. I started moving them and THE WHOLE MONITOR WENT BLACK SCREEN!

HELP!

1. The monitor also has controls...
Change those to fit the display, and check the refresh rate your computer is set to. Too large or too small and it won't display at all, and the monitor has to be calibrated via the OSD or external controls to display the resolution completely.

What type of monitor, how old is it?

4. Its an old, huge CTX 17"
I popped out the little control panel in front and played with the buttons but still all I have is the black screen of death.

2. just move your mouse to the bottom of the screen..

the screen should scroll for you, and you can reconfig the resolution. Try 1024x768 for a 17" monitor.

On edit: Restart your PC. On the second start-up screen, hit F8, then select last known good configuration.

3. You could also hit the 'windows' button.
which will pull up your start menu, then go to control panel, display.

9. Maybe I'm misunderstanding.
I mean the button next to the ctrl button on your keyboard.

Are you saying when you hit that button, the start menu doesn't even appear?

7. Are you saying
that there is no signal getting to the screen, or that you can only see a portion of your desktop?

8. I'm saying . . .
. . . that I was fooling with the left, right, up and down controls in Advanced settings and the entire screen went black.

I've restarted it many times and have tried to go in to safe mode but all I get is the black screen.
