Edited on Mon May-17-04 07:49 PM by NightTrain
From 1964-70, the Beatles had twenty #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The first ten are listed below.

Dates indicate when a single reached #1 on the Hot 100.

2. Had to go with "I Feel Fine"
George's guitar playing on that one RIPS. Everybody loves the riff on "Ticket To Ride," but I'll take the rave-up on "I Feel Fine" any day.

11. That's what I was thinking!
Well "wimps" wasn't exactly my thought, but "why don't these guys have better taste"?

Glad to know the poster of the poll is on my side, if not the unwashed masses.

4. I've always been a fan of "Help!"
I really identified with the lyrics for some reason.

6. i abhor the beatles.
If i had a nickel for every time i was forced to play one of their songs against my will, i'd have.. well.. a candy bar or something. but i still hate them.

13. Can I vote for all of them?
That's a hard choice for a Beatles fan.

16. Actually, they had the top five songs in the top ten.

Here's the BILLBOARD Top 10 for the week ending April 4, 1964:

1. CAN'T BUY ME LOVE, The Beatles
2. TWIST AND SHOUT, The Beatles
3. SHE LOVES YOU, The Beatles
4. I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND, The Beatles
5. PLEASE PLEASE ME, The Beatles
6. SUSPICION, Terry Stafford
7. HELLO DOLLY, Louis Armstrong
8. THE SHOOP-SHOOP SONG (IT'S IN HIS KISS), Betty Everett
9. MY HEART BELONGS TO ONLY YOU, Bobby Vinton :puke:
10. GLAD ALL OVER, The Dave Clark Five

As you may have guessed, this marks the only time in the history of the BILLBOARD Hot 100 chart that the same act had the top five slots all sewn up. Even Elvis never managed to do that!

I think it's safe to say, there'll never be another group quite like the Fab Four.
