Wolfgang Petersen is doing XANTH? Say it isn't so!
Warner Bros. has bought the film options to Piers Anthony's long-running XANTH fantasy novel series. The TROY writer-director team of David Benioff and Wolfgang Petersen, along with Diana Rathburn of Radiant Productions (which is Petersen's film company) will serve as producers on the film(s).

Besides the initial announcement that appeared today in Variety, no word was given as to what shape the team will take the XANTH movie. 1. feel free to pelt me with rocks...
but I HATED the Xanth books. I wish WB would hire someone better suited to the material like say... Paul Verhoven so he could wreck Xanth like he did to my favorite book Starship Troopers.

Okay, ducking now...

But then Anthony's views on sex start showing through the text. Ick!

Well, at least it isn't a remake.
