I voted for the Telecaster. I've always loved it, someday hope to own one.

Right now I have a Cort acoustic/electric.

Jeff Beck with one on The Yardbirds's Rave Up album, although I did go with the Les Paul.

Main thing I disliked about it was how heavy it was.

of course, he now has carpal tunnel so bad that he needed emergency surgery, but ya can't blame that on the geetar.

Form follows function is paramount in guitar design IMO. The flying V shape gets my vote for most useless guitar ever.

1. Doesn't the Flying V have a lot of sustain due to the body shape and size?

2. The easy, unfettered access high up the neck is a definite plus.

3. I still think it looks cool on some people. I especially like the way it looks on women players.

It's impossible. Same goes for those stick-like minimalist guitars. Ugh.

I just put the V over my right leg to hold the guitar in place. I don't remember it being a big problem but its been a long time.

And my opinion changes as often as the weather. For instance, last night at rehearsal, our bass player showed up with a Charvel Surfcaster bass. He had just picked it up. At that moment, it was the coolest guitar I've ever seen, cause it was only about 4 feet away and I had never seen one before.

But I'd really like to own a Fender Starcaster before I die.

But when I was a kid and wanted to grow up to be Steve Howe, I had a Les Paul Jr. Best electric I ever played.

You have exposed yourself as a classical guitarist.. ;-) Someday if I have the time to practice again (newish baby) and get good I'd love a nice maple-bodied concert guitar.

I'm partial to the Klein headless ergonomic guitars for electrics:

A 1958 Gretsch White Falcon, of course.

...Rickenbacker 360 12-string. Even the theme from Friends can't ruin that guitar for me.

With The Exception Of Maybe A Few Bands (And To Be Honest, I Can't Think Of One Right Now) No One Rocks On A Les Paul.... :) I Had To Vote For The Martin

The Les Paul and Strat aren't cool because too many pretentious jackasses have played them. The coolest Gibson is probably the SG; coolest Fender is the Mustang.

I have 2, and even though my main guitar is a JS-1000 Ibanez, it's a tricked out and handcrafter version of the same basic design as the Strat. So, i'll go with Strat as the coolest guitar ever.
