13. Nothing weird about voting for a Telecaster.I've loved them since I saw
Jeff Beck with one on The Yardbirds's Rave Up album, although I did go with the Les Paul.

8. Willie Nelson's Trigger
of course, he now has carpal tunnel so bad that he needed emergency surgery, but ya can't blame that on the geetar.

The original:

No guitar, just a BIG DOG

July 10, 1998 -- The Martin Guitar Company is honored to announce the N-20WN Limited Edition Signature Model guitar, a collaboration with Willie Nelson, one of the world's most renowned performers and songwriters. The N-20WN is a replica of Willie Nelson's beloved guitar, one of the most famous and recognizable instruments in existence. Available from authorized Martin dealers and distributors worldwide, C. F. Martin & Co. will make up to but not exceeding 100 Willie Nelson N-20WN Limited Edition Signature Models. No more than 30 of these 100 instruments will be offered with Brazilian rosewood back and sides.

"The Baldwin company gave me a Baldwin amp and classical electric guitar with a special three-cord stereo pickup. I busted that guitar up pretty badly so I sent it up to Shot Jackson in Nashville to get it fixed. He called back and said, 'I can't fix it. It's broke too bad.' I said, 'Well what else have you got around?' He said he had a Martin up on the shelf for $750. I asked if he could put that same Baldwin pickup in the Martin. And that's how I got it, right off the shelf, unseen from a thousand miles away. When I got it I knew that I had picked up something special. I like to just sit around in a room and play it. I like to write on it. I just like the sound of it."

9. Whoever votes for the flying V
gets slapped. :)

Form follows function is paramount in guitar design IMO. The flying V shape gets my vote for most useless guitar ever.

26. Three points
1. Doesn't the Flying V have a lot of sustain due to the body shape and size?

2. The easy, unfettered access high up the neck is a definite plus.

3. I still think it looks cool on some people. I especially like the way it looks on women players.

27. Ever try playing a V while sitting down?
It's impossible. Same goes for those stick-like minimalist guitars. Ugh.

31. I had no problem
I just put the V over my right leg to hold the guitar in place. I don't remember it being a big problem but its been a long time.

10. It's too difficult for me to select just one....
And my opinion changes as often as the weather. For instance, last night at rehearsal, our bass player showed up with a Charvel Surfcaster bass. He had just picked it up. At that moment, it was the coolest guitar I've ever seen, cause it was only about 4 feet away and I had never seen one before.

But I'd really like to own a Fender Starcaster before I die.

32. Nice!
You have exposed yourself as a classical guitarist.. ;-) Someday if I have the time to practice again (newish baby) and get good I'd love a nice maple-bodied concert guitar.

I'm partial to the Klein headless ergonomic guitars for electrics:

With The Exception Of Maybe A Few Bands (And To Be Honest, I Can't Think Of One Right Now) No One Rocks On A Les Paul.... :) I Had To Vote For The Martin

28. These two
Vox Phantom and Teardrop

The Les Paul and Strat aren't cool because too many pretentious jackasses have played them. The coolest Gibson is probably the SG; coolest Fender is the Mustang.

29. I Voted Strat
I have 2, and even though my main guitar is a JS-1000 Ibanez, it's a tricked out and handcrafter version of the same basic design as the Strat. So, i'll go with Strat as the coolest guitar ever.

Way to go, Leo!
