What's TheDifference Between A "Perfect Game" And A "No Hitter"?

A "no hitter" sounds pretty perfect to me... but surely there's a difference or folks wouldn't be making such a big deal about it.

1. perfect game = no one gets on base
no hitter = no one hits (could be walked to first though)

No hits, no walks, no runs, or errors. In a no-hitter you can still allow runs, walks, or errors but no hits.

12. yes, in a perfect game the opposition never gets on base
but in a no-hitter, the opposing team does not get a hit. there are still ways the opposition can get on base (i.e. walk, error, hit by pitch, fielder's choice, etc).

4. Perfect game - no one gets on base
no walks, no errors on base, no hit-by-pitch, no pass-balls no nothing

27 men go to bat and 27 men sit back down on the bench.

I think...
A perfect game is when no one hits a single ball thrown...no walks...no fly balls...no one out at first...just 27 strike-outs.

A no-hitter is when no one gets on base....

I THINK...I'm sure I'll find out soon if I'm wrong.....B-)

8. Doesn't have to be 27 strikeouts.
Just 27 consecutive outs, no matter how they happen.

I believe the record for most strikeouts in a game is 20, held by Roger Clemens (who did it TWICE) and Kerry Wood.

11. A no hitter is when no one gets on base on a hit
You can still get on base on an error or a walk.

5. Perfect game = 27 up, 27 down.
In a no-hitter, the pitcher can walk batters and his fielders can make errors.

I think a couple years ago, a Florida pitcher threw a no-hitter, and walked like 7 batters. It was bizarre.

Perfect games are very rare- only 16 in MLB history. No-hitters happen once or twice a season.

7. No one got on base
One can pitch a no hitter , w/ walks ,and errors .

A perfect game is just that perfect .
