What do you put coins in?
I found this bank, made out of soft plastic.
(That's my Gamecube it's on top of.)
Right now, it has about $2.00 in mostly pennies and nickels in it.

What do you put spare change in?
And how much do you have?

1. An old coffee can.
And then when the coffee can gets full, I take it to one of those CoinStar machines. I can usually get about $30 - $40 for them.

2. A beer pitcher with "Slim Jim" on the side.
It was free...

It's full at the moment. Mostly pennies, but I'm guessing there's quite the sum in there.

14. My wife took a pickle jar to the change thing two weeks ago
Edited on Wed May-19-04 02:27 PM by underpants
It's a pretty big pickle (I think) jar maybe 6"by 6". We had $80 in there.

I put mine in a little black bowl that I have beside my chair.

16. $80 would come in handy.
That would buy a new light fixture and a new shower head, easily.

18. I thought it was mostly pennies too
in fact I think it was. The coin thingy is at all of the local groceries stores, it give you 92.5 cents per dollar or something near that. It is for a charity but I can't remember which one. I'm willing to give up ~7.5 cents per dollar just to not have to do all that damed counting and rolling.

6. I have a square green jar
that I start off with and all silver goes into it. Once it gets somewhat full I count out the quarters and put them into a large coffee can. I put the uncounted nickel and dimes in another large coffee can. So far I have 180.00 in counted quarters and it's about time to split out the green jar again.

I throw pennies into anything I find.

7. I used to put it in a vase...
and before that a Coke bottle bank. It got to be too much. Now I put my change in the appropriate tubes for easy rolling. I've got over $300 in rolls. One of these days I'll put it in the bank.

22. One of those mondo nut jars from Costco
It's completely full of silver (no pennies). I'd say there's a couple hundred bucks in it. Time for a new jar.

23. Water cooler bottles
I have about seven or eight of those bottles full of coins in my basement. The one I'm currently working on is about two thirds full.

I don't know how much money is there, but it's got to be a fairly large amount for a spare change collection.
