New Wilson Phillips CD...things have really, really, really changed.
In stores Tuesday, May 25th. Yes, it's still Carnie and Wendy Wilson, plus Chynna Phillips. Check out their original CD for comparison.

I know Wendy's the brunette and she looks pretty much the same. And apparently Carnie has continued to shed weight after her well-publicized weight loss surgery...but she also seems to have gone out of her way to morph into Chynna's twin...

From USA Today, info on the CD for anyone who cares:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2004-01-08-wilson-phillips_x.htm

"In May, the trio — Brian Wilson's daughters Carnie and Wendy, and John and Michelle Phillips' daughter, Chynna — will release Pacific Coast Highway, their first CD of new material since 1992's Shadows and Light. As its title suggests, the new album, which will be the band's first for Columbia Records, has a West Coast theme.

The California girls will pay homage to their parents by covering the Beach Boys' In My Room and the Mamas and the Papas' Monday Monday. Songs made famous by Linda Ronstadt (You're No Good), Fleetwood Mac (Go Your Own Way), Jackson Browne and The Eagles will also appear.

Veteran producer Peter Asher, whose previous clients include Ronstadt, James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt, will produce the collection, and papa Brian Wilson is scheduled for a guest spot."

3. Chynna got all the attention...
Cuz she was blonde and kept her face in the camera all the time...

Wendy was more demure and just plain smoldering!

10. I agree about Wendy
The song "Impulsive" used to be a fave of mine because of the seductive way it was done..

Again, the concept of Wilson Phillips isn't bad (their music isn't a lot different from some artists I love today,) but the harmonies weren't there and they whined too much in the lyrics. Production now sounds a bit dated, too. It will be interesting to see if all of this has changed.

9. Fear not, I have all of the classic stuff...
...plus all of the Joni Mitchell, CSNY, James Taylor, Steely Dan, Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, etc. etc. etc. a person could reasonably want...

Nope, I got suckered in by the "Hold On" video 14 years ago. Just another male deer caught in the headlights. There, I've said it. I feel so much better now...
