Hey Todd Rundgren Fans
Have you hear "Liars" yet? Bought it a couple of weeks ago, and I've been listening to it daily. More great lyrics, more great melodies, more great soul. Todd it truly Godd.

1. I've got it.
Listened to it once, have read the lyrics repeatedly ... but Mr. Nownow and I are currently in our late spring Sloan phase. We're going to Chicago for the weekend -- we'll probably drop it in the CD cartridge in the vehicle.

I like the animated GIF. I have to give the guy credit -- the years are kind to him.

2. That's an old pic
from the 70s. But you're right. He looks great even now.

Give "Liars" a few listens. On the first, I liked it. The second time, I liked it a little more, etc. etc.

Looks like somewhere around the 'Todd' album, to me. I know he went through a 'glam' phase around that time. Been buying his stuff since the early '80s, though I knew who he was before that.

I intend to give 'Liars' additional time -- it took me a few listens to warm up to 'No World Order,' too, but eventually I got to where I loved it. I think I like the Utopia stuff better aesthetically -- my first love is power pop -- but he's a hell of a lyricist. There's something vaguely claustrophobic about his stuff that he does all by himself, at least to my ear; sometimes it takes me a while to get in the groove.

4. You should check out

the power trio dvd (Live in San Francisco). Kasim's on bass, and it's heavy with Utopia stuff.

on edit: Yes, yes, Todd's best stuff needs to grow on you. Or at least on me. Especially No World Order. The rap thing turned me off a lot at first, but multiple listens brought me around. Now it's one of my favorites.

5. Todd fan checking in
I've been a fan since late 1970's. I'll buy Liars within the next couple of days. Peace.

6. Let me know what you think
Frankly I'm surprised. His last effort was OK, but it was an inconsistent compilation of what seemed to be laying around. The new one is very consistent, a deliberate work of art.
