still wondering if you should fly your Kerry colors on your car?
Man, what a day I had. Was half way thru a double shift when the Freeper security guard saw I was working and had to run back and tell me with undisguised glee "They found WMD in Iraq!"

Needless to say, a disjointed conversation ensued as he promised me "Next time I hear it on the radio I'll tape it." to which I replied "If it's Fox News or Rush, don't bother since they LIE"

things deteriorated from there (I ended up apologizing for yelling an hour later)

I was on my last nerve tho thanks to the screaming session when I got in the car to drive to the other site to finish my 11 hour day.

I must first say I live in Arizona, home of Goldwater and Jon Kyl, freeperville by tradition.

On the way over I saw a gal in a little truck with a "Save America, Impeach Bush" sticker.

That made me feel a little better, but the best part was driving home, still out of sorts and tired when I saw a guy with long hair and "Bush Lied" along with about 4 other anti-Bush stickers on his car.

I can only thank those two people for their courage and for giving me a HUGE lift at the end of a tough day in freeperville. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get ahead of them to return the favor with my "John Kerry-2004" sticker :)

so fly your Kerry colors proudly and know that somewhere on that freeway you will make someone's day

1. Thanks for posting
I admit...I have a John Kerry sticker, but have not put it on my car. I, too, get a psychological lift when I see Dem/anti-Bush stickers. Because of you, I will put the sticker on my van tomorrow. Damn to my Repug, snickering, "the WMD's are in France", coworkers.

Peace.

3. Hey, I Liked Goldwater
Honest and a guide on the Colorado River. I like John Glenn too; a neighbor of his was a co-worker with my father in Ohio and I actually got to meet him once in the '60's.

Just-and please-be careful. The Fundies are...weird....

aren't bad people but SHIT that guy today got on my last ragged nerve. I did come straight home and printed out an article from the Guardian on the "Sarin WMD" find hehehehe

We'll see tomorrow if I'm still torked off enough to stick it in my purse or not :)

7. I started a post about something similar the other day.
I was in the car with my daughter on the way home from school. We saw a car with a Kerry sticker on it and, since they are somewhat rare around here, I pointed it out to my daughter.

She proceeded to tell me about her discussion at lunch that day. One of her friends mentioned that she's "ABB," and proceeded to tell the other girls what that meant. Then another chimed in with a story about her dad. Her dad received one of those shrub photos in the mail in an envelope marked "Do not bend." She said her dad took out the photo, folded it up, dropped it on the floor, and stomped all over it before tossing it in the trash.

I thought this was remarkable coming from a school in North Scottsdale.

8. I worry about causing problems at work,
But if I didn't work for an institution that goes out of its way to seem (and, perhaps, even to be) apolitical, I'd have one on my car, FReepers be damned. My husband has a Dean sticker on his that he plans to either supplement or replace with a Kerry sticker at some point in the not too distant future.

We always make sure we honk and wave at people who have decidedly progressive stickers -- there was a woman in a Subaru wagon we followed for three blocks to give a 'thumbs-up' because she had several stickers, one of which was 'doing my best to piss off the religious right' on her back glass and bumper. We figure they probably take enough crap about it, it's probably encouraging for them to know there are others who share their views.
