Colors and breeds don't mean as much to me as their personality.

And they know this. I have picked two very um interesting cats. Meaning to say, they are interesting. Please put no cat in front of me. Then it may choose to own me.

as evidenced by the cats I've owned: a white siamese mix, a gray russian blue mix, a whitish-gray burmese mix, an orange tabby and a brown & black tabby. And that does NOT include my new stray, Phink.

But... I've always adored orange cats. I finally got one last year.

My first cat, an Orange Persian and a rescued Tom that would slowly sink his claws into my chest when the alarm clock went off.

He didn't want me to miss the bus for the 4th Grade.

I thought she was a boy, for some reason. Beautiful little baby. I've got to go get a photo or two of mine here on this thread.

OK, here are two of mine, Winky:
And Chester (RIP) our big buddy, the sweetest cat ever. Dookus, I know you love big kitties, so here he is. He passed away in January, and at this point of the photo he weighed 30 lbs. He was so sweet. He would just lick your hand and love you, and I'm sorry, I'm getting weepy

I've learned that a long-haired cat never dies - I bet you STILL have hair tumbleweeds from him.

I'm sorry for your loss. A 30-pound cat is certainly something to mourn.

I have a black & white medium-hair, a short-haired tortie, and an orange tiger.

Newman was a siamese mix (his mamma was a calico, but his markings were distinctly siamese). I also had a calico once too.

I really do love them all.

7. I have a peach and gray torti manx and then there is my man Squidford.
Iris is the manx, Squiddy is my all black cat that just
started living in our back yard and would run to get in
the house. He was declawed and neutered and defenseless.
I did call the apa and the humane society, no reports.
Looked in the lost columns, nothing there either, so I guess we will keep him. Squiddy is the most loving boy. He is sweet. Iris is
a curmudgeon.

Maybe it's the tortie part.
Both of ours are crazy. Not just normal cat crazy, but as one of the writers on Somethingawful.com says, 'crazy as a nun full of mice.' They both like to have me come sit in the bathtub with them, where they roll around like kittens. The older one of the two can forget where she was going halfway across the room, and the younger one won't eat food out of a bowl -- she has to knock it out on the floor and chase it around before she'll touch it.

that's just eccentric. My brother has a dog that won't eat out of a bowl - he takes the food, carries it into the next room, drops it and then eats it. Weird, but harmless.

61. Really. I know what you are talking about though because we had a
manx that lived to be 18 years old and he was the sweetest
boy in the world. Iris is a diva. When we adopted her
they said she doesn't get along with dogs, other cats, kids
the list was endless. She's a little better than described
but she is fussy.

Oberon (pictured below-a silver Mackerel tabby with white). However, I've always adopted cats on the basis of personality; just like people, beauty alone isn't a good basis for a relationship!Oberon and his buddy Puck are both very loyal and affectionate, waiting for me at the door when I come home and giving me head butts when I awake. In fact, Oberon is sitting on my scanner, watching me type this and is purring loudly. He's such a sweetie! Puck is great on a leash; we even went to the pet store together earlier this week, and she did great! Made a lot of new friends. :-)

One of the prettiest breeds I've seen is the silver Somali; like a little Arctic fox! They are said to have exceptional personalities as well.
