2. I did once
But the pay sucked.

No, I really don't. I haven't had the time for it lately. I did enjoy being a mentor to a lil' kid once, and I briefly did some volunteering for the Kerry campaign.

5. I haven't recently.
But I used to teach literacy classes at the library.

Aside from that, I help out Project Woman (a local charity) whenever I can with food/clothes drives.

6. Some Of My Friends Have Volunteered...

7. I'm a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)
I'm the "eyes and ears of the court" for abused/neglected children. I have a case now with two beautiful young girls whose mother is an incorrigible drug and alcohol addict. They're in foster care, and the foster mother is willing to adopt them. YIPPEE!!!

In years past I have been a literacy volunteer and delivered Meals on Wheels.

8. 6k community service hours
I was a volunteer geek for a lot of years. I have close to 6,000 hours of community service and volunteer work over the past 20 years.

Of course I'm slowing down to a slow crawl now that my health is deteriorating. I might not ever cross that 6k mark. But at least I know I got close.

9. organic farm
It wasn't a huge commitment but it was fun and educational. I spent a week at an organic farm in Asia.
