Favorite party song?
I'd make it a poll, but as "Louie, Louie" would win in a landslide, I don't see a lot of point. Here's a few to start you off:
Rock Lobster, B-52s
All-Star, Smashmouth
Runaround, Blues Traveler
Got To Give It Up, Marvin Gaye
Shotgun, Jr. Walker & the All Stars
Brown Sugar, Stones
That damn "tin roof--rusted" song (Love Shack), B-52s
It's the End of the World as We Know It, etc., REM
Wipeout, The Surfaris
Fun Fun Fun, Beach Boys
Burning Down the House, THeads (What can I say? I go to dangerous parties!:))

You know, stuff like that. If this gets any traction, I might make a poll, so long as y'all at least consider voting for something other than "Louie, Louie"

15. Oh, come on.
If you wanna reach the "Higher Ground," give props to STEVIE!

You want a Chili Peppers song, may I suggest "Special Secret Song Inside" from The Uplift Mofo Party Plan.

6. When I feel like letting it rip...
I'll crank up some Mahavishnu Orchestra, "Inner Mounting Flame" being a particular favorite..

If I've had a few drinks, I'll go completely overboard and blast ELP's 'Pictures in an Exhibition'

Yes's "Total Mass Retain" and "Siberian Khatru" also get me crunk!

25. Would go pretty well with "Hey Babe, You Wanna Boogie"
Edited on Sat May-22-04 12:38 AM by undisclosedlocation
by the late, great John Hartford. Lyrics sites indicate that the title is actually "Boogie," but it's a lot clearer what I'm talking about my way.

35. You ever heard Elton's cover of "I Saw Her Standing There" with Lennon?
Was the b-side of "Philadelphis Freedom". "This is a number by an old estranged fiance of mine... called Paul. Might just about know it."

Pure joy, if maybe a trifle off-key.
