I finally bought a new car!
Well, new compared to my old car... I bought a 2001 Nissan Sentra SE with only 23k miles on it. "Certified-preowned," they tell me--meaning it comes with a 100,000 b2b warranty. I traded in my '88 Sentra, which had 200,000 more miles on it than my new one.

I tell ya, I hate having a car payment, but I sure like not worrying about the vehicle...

2. Sweet! Nissans are great cars.
I've got a 1994 Infiniti (made by Nissan). It's got 92,000 miles and purrs right along!

3. Hello fellow Sentra owner
I have a 2000. 67,000 miles. Have had good luck with it. They're decent cars. Good for the money and usually reliable.

Good luck with it and have fun.

4. Well, my last one was still going at 223,000...
Plus, it's pretty zippy for an econobox. I like that torquey 2-liter engine.

5. I hope mine goes for 200,000+
It needs to. Can't afford a new one right now.

6. Was the Sentra made in Tennessee or Mexico?
If the serial number starts with 3 it's assembled in Mexico. I have a New Beetle and it's from Puebla Mexico, all New Beetles are assembled there. The window sticker says the VW has 30% Mexican parts, 30% German parts and 11% US/Canadian parts.

7. Good question
I don't know where my Sentra was made. I will have to check it out though.

8. Mexico
Nissan's had a plant there since the seventies. I haven't heard of any problems versus the Smyrna, TN plant.

9. Great choice, a 3-year-old car is ideal value
In fact, I would vote for a Republican before I would pay the idiotic price of a new car. Well, I would never vote for a Republican, but the point of emphasis holds. Buying new is bozo.

And I agree with fellow G20 owner GOPisEvil, the Sentra is an excellent, well-made car, basically the older model G20 minus the luxury nonsense. From a distance, the only car I sometimes mistake for a G20 is a Sentra.

10. Actually... I was amazed at the mod cons it came with
Remote central locking w/trunk release, A/C w/cabin microfilter, ABS, side airbags, limited-slip diff., spoiler (why?), fog lights, alloy rims, low-profile tires, 4-wheel disc brakes, leather steering wheel and 5-speed shifter, 180-watt sound system/CD player, alarm system, chip-actuated keys w/immobilizer system... It was certainly a far cry from my '88 Sentra, which was basically an orange crate on wheels!

Now, let's just hope she runs for a couple of hundred thousand more miles... :)
