The wind has been blowing all day and I'm going crazy
...Crazier. Whatever.

Woke up at 6, wind was blowing. Been blowing ever since. There's a dust haze across the valley. Things whistle, windchimes never shut up. Something's clunking against the house. Every ten minutes I try setting the empty garbage can up a marginally different way and it blows over again, the lid trying to make a break for it. Plastic bags drift by, concerning the dogs.

Someone's got to pay.

1. The answer is "It's only the wind"

"The question is "What's the answer to the commonly asked question 'What's that noise?', usually heard in 'B' mystery or horror movies just before disaster strikes", Alex."

"Correct Robb. That's the last question in that category. Where do you want to go next?"

3. "I'll take 'Clocktowers with a Good Field Of Fire' for $200, Alex."
Maybe I'll just run through town and take down all the windchimes with an aluminum bat. :eyes:

6. Put a sock on 'em. That'll work.
'Clocktowers with a Good Field Of Fire'
You have a fertile mind and a quirky sense of humor.
I like that in a human.

2. Is it this kind of wind?
"On nights like that," Raymond Chandler once wrote about the Santa Ana, "every booze party ends in a fight. Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and study their husbands' necks. Anything can happen." That was the kind of wind it was.

7. Better still, I'll head down to the restaurant
...wait on people driven equally mad by the air movement.

"We've got blue cheese, ranch, feta, and a poppyseed dressing."

"Do you have honey mustard?"

"Oh, yes. Yes we do. But I didn't want to tell you about it. You see I got one look at you and your frightening wife when you walked in, and told the staff to come take a gander. We all agreed you're far too bad a person to have honey mustard dressing. In fact, I'm going to burn these clothes after I'm done waiting on you. Tony thinks your child would fit in the oven, but I'm not convinced." :P

8. You're a dingbat.
It's wind. It makes the air circulate, so the plants can grow and the birds can sing and kites can fly. Wind is HAPPY!

10. A Santa Ana wind is something special though. I didn't know how
weird it was until I lived through it a couple of times.

There really is something to it apparently. I read an article about it a couple of years ago, don't remember where, that explained the wind blowing across the hot, dry desert was filled with ions and electricity(?) that had the effect people talk about.

I just remember that it made my anxious and jittery. Also depressed.
