Uncredited Famous Voices In TV Commercials
U know? You might be daydreaming, watching TV, and all of the sudden something makes you pay attention to the commercial and you realize that you recognize that voice? "Well shit, that's Sam Elliot telling me that beef is for dinner!"

I think I've heard Donald Sutherland try to sell me a car.

I think I've heard James Garner trying to sell me something.

I definitely heard James Coburn try to sell me a truck.

I think I heard Jack Lemmon once.

Today, I could swear I heard Sally Kellerman do a commercial for AMD or ADM, whatever that is.

I'm sure I've missed a bunch. Have you heard any good ones and does anyone know how much these actors get paid for these voice-overs?

3. Lowes-Gene Hackman Home Depot-was "Wilson" from Home Improvement
"Wilson" (I forgot the guys name) passed away a few years ago.

Honda-Richard Dreyfus, has been for YEARS.

MSNBC voice was Dee SNyder (radio host/ "Twisted Sister")
at least it was not sure if it still is.

Stockard Channing does the voice for a financial services company but I can't remember which one.

Sutherland does Volvo and Orang Juice voice overs.

4. You heard Gene Hackman trying to convince you to fly United Airlines..
Jack Lemmon did sell Honda cars. Richard Dryfuss is doing that now.

They make a bundle. Some (think Woody Allen and Harrison Ford) go to Japan and get a lot of money doing commercials.

5. Patrick Stewart's voice is on a few
I can never remember what products. I automatically tune out ads unless they're really compelling, in which case I can't remember the product because the ad was too good.

10. Is that one of the drug ads that don't tell you what the drug is for?
With Patrick Stewart as their designated deliverer of doggerel I presume it's not for alopecia.

12. Patrick Stewart
Back in the ST-TNG days (1990-91 or so) he used to do radio ads for the old Cellular One mobile phone company. Of course, Dennis Miller does radio commercials for office machines. Recently, Kelsey Grammer did a radio ad for a jewelry chain. I'm certain they're well compensated for the 30 seconds of recorded time.

18. Lorenzo Music
(who was Carlton the Doorman on Rhoda and also provided the voice of Garfield) did some commercials also -- I think he provided the voice of one of the crash-test dummies.

20. Sally Kellerman does several voice-overs.
I always recognize her voice and enjoy listening to her. She is a great voice-over artist as her voice is so mellow and soothing.

21. One of the hotel chains
Used to have this commercial of a guy singing in the shower about how much he loved his hotel room. You never saw his face. I always hated the fricking commercial. Years later I was listening to Henry Rollins belt out Rollins Band's "Liar," and it clicked. That was Henry on that horrible commercial. He does a lot of commercials, I hear.
