Internet pharmacies -- what's the deal?
What is all this talk about Canadian drugs and Internet pharmacies offering lower costs for drugs? Ten minutes of web-searching and the best I could find Ambien (zolpidem tartrate) for is $118 for a 30-day supply!

What's the story, from a DUer who is quite a bit aways from the Canadian border?

1. Last time I checked an online pharmacy,
they told me they weren't allowed to release the prices. They certainly didn't get my business.

2. I don't know
As I said, my research was brief, but the few links I clicked on were like any other Internet retailer, with prices and all.

But the prices were, to me, a bit steep, bordering on outrageous.

I will grant you, I'm not among the group who has to choose between meds and rent or food or some such, but I did hope to catch a break.

What am I missing?

3. You have to jump through hoops

Cause those damn crooks in the drug industry are bribing the government to try and prevent you from buying from Canada.

Don't let that turn you down though. Show those crooks who is the boss!

5. The US Drug Manufacturers
Have bought out Dimbo & Co to bar the re-importation of US manufactured drugs back into the US from Canada. Canada can sell the drugs at a far lower cost in a lot of cases so the Drug Industry wants to keep all of the profit for themselves.

6. Well, my inquiry here stemmed from the fact that
I can get a 30-day supply of Ambien, without a prescription insurnace plan, for about $85 at my local Walgreens. $118 seems outrageous.
