Oh, HURRY UP, air conditioning guy!!
Our AC hasn't worked for about a week now; not pumping cool air to the upper floors of the house. We finally got around to calling for help on Saturday. The repairman is supposed to be on his way; PLEASE HURRY!!! I have such sympathy for people who don't have air conditioning and must rely on fans, or worse, don't even own fans. I bit off my poor husband's head this morning in my heat-related irritation and forced him to hurriedly depart for work to escape my wrath. The poor cats are miserable and are lying on the ceramic tile to try to keep cool. I've tried giving them some ice cubes in their water, which keeps them curious , if nothing else.

1. I'm sorry.
I know how it is with no air. The dorms wouldn't cut the air on until there were 3 weeks of above 70 degree weather--they turned it on in a week, a reminder to NEVER piss off that many females ever again. :) But I went home before the air came on, and then OUR air broke. But it's fixed now. Drink lots of ice water and stick your head in the freezer for a while; it's fun and cool. :)

2. He's here now
And is pronouncing the state of our air conditioner "goofy" (not reassuring). I am kept waiting for an exact diagnosis by some idiotic colleague of his who calls him every two seconds.

I keep thinking of my mother's tale of how during the Depression they used to put their sheets in the refrigerator and slap them on the bed at the last minute before sleeping. I'm almost tempted to try it!

I love your sig line, BTW; that's my favorite Simpsons quote!

8. It's not quite that bad.
Although it does get downright hot in July/August. Right now it's high 80s and breezy - beautiful weather. I like leaving my windows open at home, so I didn't turn my air on until yesterday. I love it until it hits the mid 90s, and then I mostly stay indoors until the end of Sept. So come on to Dallas, it's not that bad. And very little humidity.

5. We've had 16 days in a row of temps over 80
It is usually a cool 70's in May with the sweet virginia breeze blowing. Ricmond is cooking.
