FINALLY got my PiL 's CD's!!!
After being a fan of Johnny Rotten for I can't remember how long, I FINALLY got the last 2 CD's by Public Image Ltd. that were all but impossible to track down, hell, even DOWNLOAD! If you haven't heard "Live In Tokyo" and "This is what you want...this is what you get!" stop what you are doing and GET 'EM! Now mind you, this isn't mainstream "pop punk" (talk about an oxymoron!) so if you like that shiiit, stop reading this post! If you are one of the 3 million who have been put out of work since BUSHitler stole orafice (trust me, I know the feeling...I'm amazed I have a job for hell sakes!) then save your damn money for FOOD! See if you can DL at the very least the songs "Solitare" (get BOTH the live version and the studio!) & "1981" and crank it up! Especially if you neighbors are dicks, like mine! But it worked, and they've stopped the heard of elephants upstairs or whatever in the hell they were doing!!!!!!!! I'd also have to recommend some tracks from other PiL albums: "4 Enclosed Walls", "Albatross" (this is a 10 minute song, so be warned, it will take a while to DL if you are on dial up!) and "Banging The Door".

Now if only I could track down John Rotten's solo "Psycho's Path" I'd have I think everything!

Lu Cifer, IMPEACH THE BUM!

1. I looooove PIL.....
Lucky enough to have seen them live a few times in strange settings (opening for INXS at Radio City Music Hall, opening for New Order in a large arena). This Is What You Want....is one of my favorites by them. I also had a hard time finding that on CD. I've only heard a few songs off of Live In Tokyo.

So many new bands are ripping of bits and pieces of PIL's sound. I'm sure Johnny is typically peeved about that in his cartoonish way.

2. aren't they making a movie from his book now . . .
I recently heard some interesting rumours regarding who might play John (my vote would go to Seth Green).

3. I loved First Edition, Metal Box and Flowers of Romance
but I wasn't a big fan of Live in Tokyo. Loved the cover though. I should dig it out and try it again. Were Jah Wobble and Keith Levene on that one?

4. There's a boot of "Live in Tokyo" floating around
With a better mix and longer set.

You're encouraging downloads? Stealing from Johnny? You know he spent years and years and most of his own money to stop Malcolm from doing the same thing?

Shame, shame.....

7. oopsy!
I wasn't uh, encouraging downloads for uh, purpose of uh, not buying the CD! Oh who am I fooling! But damnit, they need to make that shiit more availible than an import from Pango Pango for gods' sakes! It's ALMOST as bad as trying to find Roger Taylor's solo CD's! Thanks Hollywood records! They reissued all of Freddie Mercury's stuff...but...FORGOT ROGER! And Brian May too, except the newer stuff.

Lu Cifer, don't you touch that button that says Kazaa!

5. Ooo
A boot of that huh? I'll have to lick around...

I saw PiL down in Miami in April 1992 on that eMpTyV 120 Minutes tour w/ Blind Mellon, Live & Big Audio Dynamite. What a show, holllly crap!

A movie of his book? Oh wow! This will be either really good or really BAD...depends on who has creative control. I know Rotten was PISSED at whoever put SID & NANCY together, so...we shall see.

Whatever happened to the Sex Pistols reunion?!??!?! And, I saw within the last 6 months that he's got another solo album coming, but haven't heard jackshmit since. Bueller?!

11. he's going by Lydon now?
One minute it's Lydon! The next it's Rotten! I know he had to sue the shmit out of Malcom to get the rights to use the "Johnny Rotten" name. Either way, he still kicks ass and that's what matters!

12. He has become irrelevant as Johnny Mathis. Every few years he stoops
to some new PR low. Whether its a Pistols reunion or a stubt hosting an E channel show. IMHO, he hasn't kicked ass in about twenty years and even then, his live shows with PIL sucked more often than not.

I really do like a few of those PIL LP's though. And of course the Japanese import LP mentioned in the original post has the Tokyo fans singing chorus onf Under the House which I love everytime i hear it.
