Shrub's style of lying has changed
Did anyone notice it?

They didn't have that kind of totally confident "I can put this bullshit over on you" arrogant style of outright lying he used during the preceding years of his Residency, up through and including his last SOTU.

Tonight, it felt to me more like the style of covert, slightly defensive lying that is typical of the liar who's feeling not so confident, not so arrogant, not so sure that he's getting away with it any more and so has to couch his lies to seem a bit more truthful...

1. But it's too late baby now it's too late
Oh it's way too late, to fake it
We've had it with all your lies
And now you're fired
Cause we just won't take it ooooh no no no

3. I'm in the other room,
so I didn't hear who it was...but we've got the telly on CNN and some female talking head just said "Just because the President says so doesn't make it reality" or something to that effect...:o

5. What the Bushies think
is that if you say the same lie over and over and over it will become the truth.

Fiendishly clever of them, actually.

Because, dammit, we're buying it.

11. Yep -
they started to perfect it during Reagan's term, but I think they found they're real stride with that policy during Clinton's time- aided and abetteby a media far too willing to keep repeating the lies.

"Welfare Queen", "Tort Reform", "War on Terror", "They hate our freedoms", all that BS.

9. I couldn't believe some of the idiots who called in!
I espdecially love people who have been handed sound bites that actually make no damn sense whatsoever, and say them with the authority that they've just finished the conversation with their incredible insight.

Like the idiot woman, from Florida I think, who said "If it was 1942, we'd all be speaking German now." And then stopped, as though that assinine and meaningless comment was the absolute end-all be-all of debate and commentary.

"Oh, hell, we'd be speaking German? my God, woman, you're right! If this were 1942, we WOULD be speaking German! Shit, I'm mailing the Republican party a lot of money tomorrow! I can't believe my blindness. How could I not have seen it? 'If this were 1942, we'd all be speaking German now.' Wow!"

10. Ironically, the careful, small lie is more easily noticed by the public
Which bodes well for us.
