Shoulda been the End as We Know It (aka REM's Swan Song) and I would have felt just fine...Once my favorite band (first five albums or so), for the past ten years or so I could care less about them...sorry, sometimes bands lose their magic and REM lost theirs long ago.

I don't hate REM... in fact, I love old REM. But alas, Stipe took on the same whiny approach to stardom that Morrissey, Sinead O'Connor, Bono, et. al. took on.

My feeling is this: if you spent your life becoming a rock star, and you succeed, I don't feel sorry for you.
