How do you feel about change in your life?

Which is unfortunate, as I have 2 children who would probably enjoy some stability in their lives...:(

But, OTOH, if I were to 'settle' somewhere, I'd be totally miserable, so maybe constant change is a fair trade off for a happy mommy. (I tell myself this anyway...:shrug:)

Kids are resilient. They're just gonna grow up like you, needing change every few minutes. Just understand that when your kids decide they want to transfer to their 5th different college. :-)

...Of course, without change there's no growth. And we seem to value growth, which implies we actively seek pain.

Unfortunately, most people seem to like consistency and stability rather than the challenge of doing something new and unsure. It's only when change is thrown at them involuntarily that they rise to the occasion and often come out better for it.

I embrace change because I know there is no such thing as no change. Even if it is the smallest of all change, it is still change.
Resistance to change brings anger, frustration, sadness and depression. To accept it as life itself is one step closer to complete happiness. Yes, it does exist, but it has to be found with acceptance of life as it happens. This includes the acceptance of change.

Or confused, or not sure,; or... (I suppose you get it). Last year, my baby girl went off to college 500 miles away and is now spending her summer break working in Boston. She says she misses me but does not want to come back to our impoverished (economically; culturally ect)part of Maine except perhaps to go skiing. She wants me to come down there though.

I hate to say this but I think she's too embarrassed to show her upper middle class beau where she comes from. I know my description makes her sound shallow but she's not at all. Her life here was full of poverty and sadness. She's one of a very few of her classmates who has ventured out into the real world. She's obviously very brave and I am SO proud of her.

But her absence has been a HUGE adjustment. A VERY hard change in my life. :-(

say, a 200% increase, would be very warmly welcomed by me. That's the kind of change I like.

However, 6 mothns ago and out of the blue, my wife told me she fell out of love with me and left me heart broken. THIS KIND OF CHANGE SUCKS!

now i seek change out and embrace change wholeheartedly.

I'm fairly restless, espcially intellectually restless. I'm always growing and refining my thoughts and feelings on various subjects.

Physical changes are hard for me though. I'm mostly a creature of habit. While I look forward to where I will be once the change is over, I dislike the actual process of change and procrastinate. :-(

That's a big contradiction within me. :P

Sometimes it hurts or stirs up things, but unless you want to stagnate, it needs to happen at times. :)
