MLB All-Star ballot question

Ok I know the fans pick the position players but how are the pitchers picked? Do the All Star managers pick the pitchers? Who decides on the managers for each league? The press?

On a side note: I am so proud of my Tigers and what they have accomplished so far this season. It's nice to see the fans wearing the old English D beyond the month of April.

1. Managers pick pitchers

Although there is input from league presidents and the commissioner. Backups are also selected by the managers. The managers are the League champions of the previous year, this year McKeon and Torre. And the Tigers are a feel good story indeed. On edit- cool handle. Staggerlee was a bad man. lol.

If I were Torre I'd pick Pedro and Schilling and sit my own guys. The fans should pick this one too.

So let the fans pick the teams - pitchers and reserves included - and let the managers manage what the fans give them.

I have no problem with the fans picking the managers, for that matter. With the kind of talent Torre has, he SHOULD be in the dugout every October. Get someone in there who is doing more with less.
