The ANSWER: 1 dead bird, 1 dead squirrel, 4 frogs, 1 turtle
The question is......

What did burythehatchet pull out of his pool as he started cleaning it for summer?

yeeeeeeeeccccchhhhhh!

The turtle was cute.

The squirrel was just a baby :(

God - please don't let me find any larger mammal as I get to the deep end

We found three baby robins that must have been blown out of their nest. It was very sad. Hoping the rest of your pool is mammal free.

4. Man, don't remind me
I still haven't cleaned mine out yet. I've removed 2 dead frogs and a chipmunk and that was just the surface.
I should invite a taxonomist to my pool openings. I find so many dead things I can't recognize.

6. why don't you float some things in there off season so that when critters
Edited on Tue May-25-04 04:31 PM by radwriter0555
fall in, they have something to get out with or up on?

Then you'd reduce your fatalities.

I learned to do this the hard way last year, when my pollywogs turned frogs drowned after my lily pads went dormant.

The froggies couldn't get back out of the pond, and drowned.

Who knew?

7. I never did think of that.
Does it work?

I mean, if they can climb onto my Mets floatation device, can't they climb out the side of the pool? What if they do get on the Mets floatation device, will they like send bottles with notes in them hoping that another of the same species will rescue them?

:)
From now on I will cover the dern thing in the winter.

8. You HAVE to watch for the smoke signals when they build fires on the
mets floatation device.

Apparently you don't look out your window often enough, and they commit suicide after waiting all those weeks.

9. Try water moccasin.
Next door. In april.
"TROFFFF!"
Jen's hubby is at work and she decided to take the cover off their pool. Big black moc swimming around.

My snake guidelines: Harmless ones go their own way. So do poisonous ones on the road or in the woods. On my lot (or a neighbor's) they get...um...euthanized. Too many little kids and pets around here.

13. I'm a real wimp when it comes to dead stuff
I usually ask my son to dispose of the carcasses. Since he's not here right now I HAD to do it. Good thing I had a 10 ft. pole.

:D
