What's the difference between recordable CDs?

Can I make a software backup on a recordable "music" cd?
Would music come out ok if recorded on a data cd?

In some countries there is a special tax on Audio CDRs, recompansating Artists for the copies, but I don't know about the US. In therory there are a few HiFi CD-Recorders (i.e. no PC) that demand Audio CDRs.

I have one of those theoretical hi-fi CD burners attached to my stereo. ;-) And yes, it requires the music CD-R's.

6. OK: HiFi recorders do need Audio CDRs

But as the "feature" is part of the copy protection mechanism (i.e. only on taxed media and no copies of copies), it tends to be turned theoretical .

My audio CD burner won't burn onto "data" CDs - it requires a music CD. But pretty much any computer CD burner will use either.

I prefer using an audio burner for music. (I don't use the computer to record music.)

But If You Are Burning MUSIC OR DATA use A DATA CD - I Assume You Are Talking Computer Burning.

Always Use A DATA CD For Burning Music Or Data On A Computer - Which Type Of Burner Do You Own? Plextor Drives Are The Only Ones I've Tested That Work Well With Either Media, Otherwise Stick To Data For All Burning Porjects.

I use either Surething or Easy Creator to burn cds.
