36. Agreed, but why is country music so popular in Newfoundland?
When I spent a week there a few summers ago, damn near every radio station blasted nothing but country!

4. Toss up between NS and New Brunswick
Being a Mainiac and all. But Newfoundland....man, life doesn't get much desolate then there. PEI is pretty cool too.....great place to bike, only place I know where plants and birds are the major route markers.

6. I voted BC
I fear it won't be the coolest much longer, though, if Campbell isn't stopped soon. It'll become another Alberta!! Though Alberta's not so bad as long as you know where to go.

I am puzzled about Sask's strong showing. Maybe all those Murricans like the funny name.

17. Trouble with Calgary is. . .
You often can't tell who the rednecks are, they frequently don't have any sort of "look," so I am very cautious about starting, or even participating in, political discussions. Except in my own house, we all think pretty well alike. For example, we often had dinner and bridge evenings with another couple a few years ago, never talked about politics until one time he started spewing forth about Preston Manning. I sort of ignored it, but I must have said something to piss him off, because we haven't heard from them since. Screw it, they couldn't cook worth a damn anyway, and he was waaayyyy too competitive at the card table. Don't miss him, the stupid redneck.

Well, anyway, if you can stand the politics, Calgary's not so bad, and it's easy to get away to the mountains when you get a little tired of the place, I can be there in less that 30 min.

The really funny thing is that arch-conservative Calgary keeps on electing Liberals as Mayor:

Rod Sykes
Ross Alger - I think
Ralph Klein - was a Lib when elected
Al Duerr
Dave Bronconnier

All good Liberals. Notice how Bronco screwed up the nice string of 5-letter names.

.

.

parallel

with part of it at the same latitude as Norther California!

yup yup

AND

Temperatures are moderated by the proximity of the Great Lakes.

Besides having the conveniences of the larger cities, we have our "Near North" within a few hours of Toronto.

Where I live, North Bay, there are thousands miles of old logging roads that suit my passion well

CAMPING

On the little Jocko river near North Bay

On Trapp Creek near Chapleau

On the Mattawa River near Mattawa

Yup

I luv my Northern Ontario

27. Truthfully, I've only been to BC.
But when you can go from the Okanagan Valley (think Arizona with trees and water) to Vancouver Island within a day's drive, what's not to like?

Actually, I was trying to see more of the province last summer, but those goddamned forest fires kept me from going any farther north past Kamloops.

And the best part, if you're driving: 94 octane gas

37. I voted Alberta, cause...
That's where I'm from. Born and raised in Edmonton. Lots of liberals up in Edmonton (due to the high number of blue-collar workers).

Alberta also has Banff, Jasper, the badlands, and the Vegreville egg.
