How come when I go to Wal-Mart
I never see the smiley face guy flying around slashing them prices like they shows on the teevee? Nobody is all happy-lookin' either.

That makes me mad.

4. Smiley dude only does that in commercials.
He had stop doing it in stores after inadvertantly slashing a Mr. Nathan Price in an Onondaga, NY Wal-Mart about three years ago. Hey! He's stupid smiley face. They told him to slash prices...

5. Hey, the National Trust
just named my entire state endangered because Walmart wants to build seven more stores here. No joke! this was all over the news today. You have dumbasses in places like St. Albans and St. Johnsbury writing to Walmart and asking them to build there... for the jobs!!!!!! Why don't they just invite the federal gov't to build a radioactive waste site here -- that would provide jobs too...

6. Yeah
but the jobs at the waste site would be high paying union jobs.

9. Phil Ochs
If you're not familiar with his music, you should definitely check him out. Supposedly Sean Penn was going to make a movie based on his life, but for some reason it's been shelved even though apparently a workable screenplay was developed for the project.
Only a few days ago there was a DU thread asking everyone what his/her
favorite Ochs songs are.
A legend and, in times like these, very sorely missed.

12. Smiley guy is in Malaysia
He's sewing together shirts and shoes, according to Human Rights Watch. It seems Smiley wanted to join up with the Screen Actor's Guild, and since Wal-Mart is not pro-union, ole' Smiley got his ass booted off to make those shoes. The new Smiley is a scab.

15. He's in line at the welfare office
Wal-Mart won't pay him enough to feed his family, so (like many Wal-Mart "associates") he qualifies for state assistance.
