How many one-night stands have you had in your life?

The two women I've ever been with are my first wife and my second wife, and nobody in the 21 years before wife #1 and nobody in the 11 years since wife #2. Guess I'm just a social hopeless case.

So, four

...when you come to slightly sober just before dawn and are trying to slip out quietly, but you realize they're lying on your shirt so you have to wake them.

Only happened once and I decided never again.

and wondering whether you did anything.

but mostly not in the good way. Ugh! Time to go to bed ... by myself.

but since I would be the one with the biggest amount (up to now, at least), I won't. :P

Yes, several are memorable... and I only really regret one.

one that for certain would have been better than a one-off; but life got in the way, so that friend who briefly became a lover became lost to me.

A couple might-have-been one-night stands, except by that time I
a) knew the one-night stand thing didn't appeal to me,
and
b) knew I wasn't interested in more than one night with the women, so they didn't even get the one night.

Turns out I really like sex better when I care about the person; I like making the effort to please my partner, but if I know I don't really care about the partner, it's difficult to care about trying to please her, so ultimately, why bother?

I'm kinda like a bag of chips, it's the "all that" I lack. :P

Once I woke up with an ass in my face. I didn't recognize the ass or remember where I was or how I got there so I decided to quietly abandon the place. There were a few anxious moments when I didn't find my car right away but I finally found it around a corner and left.

The other was with a waitress at a Dunkin Donuts. I'd been on friendly terms with her for some time since I liked spending my late nights there. To make a long story short, one morning I suggested she go to my house when she got off work. She did and ten minutes later we were in bed.

While I was still having sex with her, I started thinking "WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOING???" So we finished up, I made some excuse about being tired and practically pushed her out the door.

And I never went back to that Dunkin' Donuts again. Nor have I had any more one night stands.

The last one was just out of this world. She made me feel things I never felt before with a woman. If the timing were different, I think we could've gotten married. The bond was that intense.

many. Many of them memorable. Sometimes, I have discovered, two people can share a moment of perfect pleasure and solace and then part, never to recreate the experience or even see each other again. I fail to see what is so bad about this.

To reveal, because some would think it a lie, and others would think it inappropriate.

See, I used to run a business that involved arranging romantic sunset cruises for singles. I ran it in the tropics, and it involved lots of rum. I would meet about 50-100 or so enthusiastic members of the opposite sex each week, and ended up dating more than a few of those.

Over the 5 years I was involved in that biz, the one night stands added up considerably. Looking back on the whole sordid mess, I know that I'm quite fortunate for two reasons: 1) I have never had illegitimate children, and 2) I'm still in great health.

Nuff said about days long passed over.

But one in particular sticks out in my mind,

but not why anyone might guess . . .

I was "picked up" by a girl whose car I repaired at a garage I was working at

At the time I was without wheels, and during conversation this was mentioned.

I lived at a rented farm 14 miles out of town, so she offered me a ride home.

She had some whiskey, I had some beer . . .

The next morning, as she was leaving, the police showed up.

The car was stolen!

I never saw her again . .

And none were memorable.

Tough to remember....

Suffice it to say that, in the last fifteen years, I've had none.

Back when I did stuff like that, many were memorable.

There's been a few times when Michael and I have gotten up early to go to the gym and ran into some ruffled up lookin' guy headin' home wearing last nights outfit.

Ahhhhhhhh the glorious memories of youth.

I walked that baby many times, trying to catch a bus, lookin all worn out.

Actually, one was a two-nighter... but these will always rank among my best memories of my life!

One of them has been hassling me for close to five years, onn and off.

and yes many of them were memorable.

Back when I was in college. I cheated on my girlfriend. Didn't care for it at all.

Memorable enough that I wanted to go back for "seconds"....

And probably never will. And hell...I was playing the rock circuit here for years....

But I've had quite a few where I was required to lie down.

I once even had a one night stand that lasted two nights.

Ah....the early 80's. You had to have been there.
