Poll question: How creepy is Jessica Simpson's dad?
Many of us know that Jessica's father is also her business manager. Now she's releasing a line of edible body creams and reportedly playing the role of Daisy Duke (bun-hugging cutoffs and all) in a film version of The Dukes of Hazzard. Assuming that her dad is driving all this, just how creepy is he?

1. Voted restraining order, even though I've never seen him...but if
he's repsonsible for the flake Jessica has become, he's criminal!

2. Makes you wonder
Jessica's family is evangelical Christian, and she tried getting started in CCM when she was younger. None of the gospel labels would hire her because (according to Mama Simpson) her breasts were too large.

Maybe Dad is taking the whole Promise Ring thing a bit too seriously...

4. the Promise ring thing...
is really scary. On some MTV show they talked about how she had a little ceremony in which she got a ring from her dad and promised him she wouldn't have sex until she was married. If you don't believe in sex before marriage, make a promise to yourself, not your dad. That's just creepy. :puke:

8. Well, that explains a lot then, the Evangelical information.

I don't know much about Jessica, her underwear, her career, her family, or her marriage, despite the fact that most entertainment media outlets have attempted to promote her to me fanatically on a daily basis.

:boring:

Okay, I just read about the promise ring and that isn't just creepy, but fucking creepy.

5. He was on the set of one of the many videos
where Nick and Jessica were making out for the camera in a bed on the beach. He said that Jessica was happy that she could "do it until she's blue in the face" because they were married, and the video was a "celebration" of that. Or something.

He has spent way too much time contemplating her sex life.

6. I saw that
and it gave me the creeps. I would hate for my Dad to be standing over me while I'm simulating getting it on with my husband.
Geez, I had a hard time telling him I was pregnant the first time because he'd know what I'd been up to.

9. About that promise ring...
From a Blender.com article found on google:
The same year she flubbed the Mickey Mouse Club audition, Simpson received a "promise ring" from her father, which she would wear as evidence of her chastity and her symbolic marriage to Jesus until it was replaced by a ring from her husband. "We all had one," best friend Maguire says. "Joe was our minister, and he would talk about abstinence and how beautiful your body is and how it could be a gift to someone. None of us were having sex. Our best friends were the popular people. Jessica was a cheerleader, the guys were football players - like, the top guys in our school - and we all went to church together. If everyone around you isn't having sex, and you're the one who is, you wouldn't fit in. It's like reverse peer pressure."

Still, after Simpson left the church choir in Dallas for pop stardom in Los Angeles, maintaining her virginity required fortitude. "When Nick came into my life, it was a challenge - like, 'I can't go back now!' " Simpson says. "'I've come this far; I can make it!' " And by all accounts - including I Do: Achieving Your Dream Wedding, the book Simpson cowrote about her nuptials - she did exactly that.

"She waited for marriage, and now she's happily married and having sex every day," says her father. "Now she's going crazy. And that's cool."

The father/daughter relationship here is freaky in the extreme.

12. Seeing that her entire family are a bunch of Fundies from....
Texas and Jessica performed at Bushie's Inauguration, or should I say, Coronation, I voted with deep conviction for "Restraining Order"!

15. She is a better singer than
Britney at the very least...but that ain't saying much because Britney couldn't hit the required note with an MX Missile.
:)
I saw Jessica's Dad on TV....very jolly xian type making millions off of his daughter's tits and ass WITH the connivance of her husband while still maintaining a tight un-natural grip on her sexuality.
In other words this hammerhead is freeper demigod and living in RW heaven.
Or he will until Jessica loses her looks, has a baby, or her reptilian husband decides HE should control Jessica's career at which point the whole repellent mishaugas ends in terror and madness.

Still she IS easy on the eye.
